Many people invest in their education and one of the most sought after certifications is being a project management professional or PMP. It doesn’t come cheap but it’s still a solid investment as most PMPs earn more after getting the credential. A salary comparison actually shows at least a 10% advantage in the basic salary of someone with a certification vs. one without this credential. Getting certified as a PMP is not as simple as it seems and many professionals take up PMP Certification Training to ensure a high probability of passing and getting certified.

In PMP Certification Training, you get to review all the key subjects and context that will be tested when you take your PMP Exam. If you opt to do a self review, you can also buy the practice exams which are readily available and downloadable online. However, most people still prefer to prepare for their PMP Exam through PMP Certification Training.

This is not to say that the passing rate for both test preparations is any different since passing the exam really lies in the individual taking the test. If you have a lot of real life experiences doing project management, chances are, you are better off doing a self review of all the concepts in project management. You just might save yourself a couple of hundred bucks by doing this.

However, if you feel that you lack the experience and want a refresher course to make sure that you have a good chance of passing the exam, take the certification training. You also might save yourself a couple of hundred bucks by ensuring that you pass the test the first time around.

Whether you choose to take Project Management Certification training or not, be wise with your money since you don’t only spend for it, you also spend time on it.

Many professionals are encouraged to get necessary credentials in their line of work. One of these is a Project Management certification. Considered by many as one of the most practical among professional trainings offered, most people prepare for certification via PMP Training.

Project management professional training is given by many vendors and can cost anywhere from $75 to $800. It can be taken in a real classroom setting or via online virtual classes, which are both instructor led. Instructors are experts in the field of project management with real life experiences and best practices to share with the students.

It is really up to you where you want to take the classes. Most professionals who do not have the luxury of time choose taking it online. Accelerated training classes or boot camps in PMP Training usually take up to 4 days but it can take longer if taken via e-learning, which students can take anywhere from a month to 3 months.

The training usually starts with an overview of project management followed by the following aspects of project management: project management framework, project management process, project integration management, project scope management, project time management, project cost management, project quality management, project human resource management, project communication management project risk management, project scope management, project procurement management, professional responsibility and ethics.

As much as possible, you would want to get the most out of what you paid for so it is also essential to know your learning style as some may not be motivated by studying alone in their own time while some prefer the real live classroom interaction. Whatever mode you decide to take, make sure that it is taken with a credible training institution otherwise, your efforts might just be wasted.

Before you settle on taking your PMP Training with the hope of obtaining PMP certification training, it’s best to take into consideration your learning style, price, vendor, and mode of facilitation.

With millions in revenues brought about by projects, most companies look at project management certification to make sure they have the best people working on their projects. At least 80% of successful projects are led by someone who has obtained such credentials that include pmp training and PMP certification training. Some companies even sponsor the certification of their own employees while some employees pay for their own.

Whether someone foots the bill or not, one thing is for sure: getting a project manager certification puts an edge on any professional’s resume as demand for project managers continue to increase. An industry recognized project management certification gives off the notion that you have the experience, knowledge, and capability to lead projects. It’s a stamp of approval put on your professional credentials that’s worth the effort and the money since most project managers earn thousands of dollars a year in basic salary.

To apply for this, a basic requirement is having some exposure or experience in doing project management. Some providers require at least 1500 hours while others accept certain hours of project management education.

If you are ready to be certified, there are a few things you should be reminded of when getting a project management certification:

You should always do a little bit of research to find out which training vendors are legitimate and which ones are not. Another thing to consider is to know what kind of certification best fits your current position and career goals. Also, make sure that you can spend enough time to finish the course in order to maximize its benefits. Note that there are some vendors that require professionals to constantly renew their certifications every three year period so be sure that you are up for it.

Getting certified is not as easy as it seems but it is definitely more practical and easier to do than many other MBAs out there.

The project manager is the prime project leader of initiating projects in companies which cost millions to implement. Most project managers undergo project manager certification and obtain PMP certification training for credibility in undertaking the project management practice.

In the long run, project managers can choose to obtain project manager certification and undergo PMP training after gaining years of experience or they can opt not to take it at all. Even though some consider this as important, it isn’t always the case. In project management, what’s important is having an excellent project manager.

To be effective in this role, one must have a foresight into the desired outcome of a project. A good project manager is someone who knows how to lead the project team into sharing a common vision for a particular project.

Another important trait of a project manager is having exceptional communication skills. He must be able to communicate things clearly both at the micro and macro level as he will be the key person that everyone in a project goes to when something goes wrong.

A project manager is also someone who knows how to divide the tasks between and amongst his team members. He must trust that his team will do the right thing. In managing small or large scale projects, the project leader who does not know how to do this can easily suffer from burn out.

In project management, many things can easily go wrong such as cuts on the project budget, team members not meeting assigned deadlines, or deals that do not push through, and the project manager bears all of these things. An effective project manager is usually one who maintains his composure when things go wrong. He knows how to bring the team back on the right track.

In the end, it doesn’t really matter if you have a project manager certification or not, what matters is that you learn to have the skills and the values needed to implement a project.

A project manager will never feel complete if he has not achieved a project manager certification. This is a proof that the individual holding this certification is an expert in the field of project management. It is also the document that companies ask for from people applying to them for the position of project manager. It is actually a ticket to better opportunities, career advancement, higher pay, and an extensive network. Having a project manager certification means a person is a reliable and an expert project manager.

A project manager initiates, plans, implements and supervises a project. He identifies and uses the best resources for the success of the project. He determines the budget needed and makes sure that he does not spend more than the cost he identified. He will also see to it that the goals are met after the conduct of the project. With this challenging workload, it is no wonder why project managers have a high salary and this can even increase with a project manager certification.

If you want to get this kind of certification, go to schools and institutions that offer it. There are also accredited and reputable organizations that provide this certification. Make sure you go to the most respected and famous school or organization because employers are also wary about from where the training came from. You need to be at least a high school graduate with five years of related work experience to avail of this certification.

The most known certification is the Project Management Professional which is given by the reputable and respectful organization, Project Management Institute. To apply for this, you need to have a high school diploma and at least five years of work experience in managing a project. You should also have 35 hours of education in the said field. If you have a college degree, they prefer that it is related to project management. Getting this certification will open a lot of new doors for you and you will be applauded by your employers.

Being a certified project manager will make you earn a huge salary that is almost $100,000 a year. Sometimes this amount will double if you work for bigger companies and if you have more years of work experience and a background of implementing successful projects. Indeed, getting a project management certification is one way of being recognized for your education and work experience and is a permit to wider and better prospects.

In order to get the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification training, you have to apply for this through the Project Management Institute (PMI), an extensive and reputable organization for project managers. PMI has already given this certification to 370,000 project managers from all over the world. To avail of this certification, you must have finished a four-year college related to project management. If you do not have a college degree, you need to have at least three years experience in this field which is equal to 4500 hours and 35 hours of related education or training. If you are just a high school graduate, you need to have 5 years of project management work that consists of 7500 hours and 35 hours of related education or training.

If you are interested to apply for PMP certification training, you need to visit the PMI website and download the application form there. Fill out the form and submit it via mail to PMI. You need to place your contact details, work experience and educational background. You also need to pay a fee that ranges from $250 to $555. If you are a member of the PMI, you can avail of a discount.

After PMI processes your application for the PMP certification training, you will have to take an examination which runs for four hours. You will encounter questions on planning, initiating, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, controlling, and closing out projects. Your knowledge on professionalism and social responsibility will also be tested.

Once qualified, you need to go to a Prometric testing center near you. The exam is given using a computer. Others can opt for a written examination if they do not have a Prometric testing center nearby. In some cases, there are employers who can have their employees take this exam as a group in their office. They just need to coordinate with PMI on this. The result of the computer test is released in advance while the results of the paper test takes time.

If you have received the certification, you will enjoy higher salary and better work opportunities from your employer. Passing the test does not end there though. You need to renew your credentials after three years by taking up 60 credits of continuing education on project management. You can take up a course related to the field; attend trainings that are accredited by PMI, render voluntary services by managing the projects of your community, and go through self-study classes. If you are a member of PMI, always update their website with your related accomplishments.

Go ahead and apply for the PMP certification training and be a recognized and certified project manager!

Project Management Professional or PMP training is usually undergone by individuals who are engaged in managing projects of their offices or organizations. There are many project managers who undergo this training to acquire a certification afterwards. This certification is proof of their expertise, high educational attainment, and proficiency in project management. The Project Management Institute gives out this official recognition. The work of such managers is to prepare projects and identify its time frame, budget requirements, range and other necessary details.

People with PMP training would always be given respect and recognition by their supervisors, peers and clients. Not everybody gets to avail of this training, passes its rigorous examination, and receives a certification for it. Before undergoing this training, they need to prove their expertise, background, and understanding on project management. If a person gets this certification, it means he or she is one of the best project managers around.

A PMP training certification is an indication that a person has good work and personal ethics as well as a high level of professionalism. He/she must also adhere to the given code of ethics and professional conduct of the PMI. He/she must be a goal-oriented, practical, responsible, respectful, fair and honest individual. If he/she does not exhibit these ethics and show unprofessionalism, his/her certification may be taken away.

Project managers with a PMP certification usually receive a bigger salary than those who do not have it. They are also given higher responsibilities in their field. They are often chosen to avail of bigger breaks and wider opportunities. They are also on top of the list if there are career advancements or promotions up for grabs.

Because managers with a PMP certification become members of PMI, they are given the opportunity to widen their network. PMI has many local chapters and coordination with other groups from other places. If a project manager goes to another city or state, he or she can contact and meet up with the PMI chapters and members there. PMI also has an online network where employment opportunities are posted in case project managers want career advancement.

When one applies for a project management work, employers will always ask for a PMP certification. There are also employers who encourage their employees to keep their knowledge updated by going through continuing education on program management. It is therefore necessary to enroll in a PMP training so as to get the much coveted project management certification for professional growth.

If you are a project manager, you can get a project management certification by having related education, professional experience, and a good track record on project management. There are educational institutions and organizations that provide such certification but make sure you go to a reputable one that offers updated trainings. Employers will always go for the institution or organization that is known and has quality standard.

Project managers work in various companies and firms that conduct projects continuously. Every day, there are businesses that open branches in different parts of the world and they need competent individuals to manage their projects. They are required to handle and supervise daily activities and ensure they meet the deadline, do not exceed the budget and meet their outlined goals. To ensure they hire the right people for the job, they always look for project management certification from their applicants.

To avail of the project management certification, you need to have the required basic education and work experience. You will also undergo an extensive examination to test your knowledge. If you do not pass this exam, you will not get the certification. If you pass the exam, you will need to undergo continuous education on project management for the validity of the certification. This includes voluntary work in your community, additional classes and a renewal fee.

The most popular way of getting this certification is through the reputable organization, Project Management Institute (PMI). They give and administer the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. The PMI was founded in 1984 and their PMP certification is the first project management certification accepted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001. In order to avail of the PMP certification, PMI first has to verify your educational qualification and work experience. If you have acquired a bachelor’s degree, you need to accompany it with 3 years experience on project management. If you have an associate’s degree or just a high school diploma, you must have a work experience of five years.

There are other organizations that tender such certification such as the American Academy of Project Management. They also offer certification for project management training, international project management, and e-business. Another organization is the International Association of Project and Program Management which provides the same certification and other trainings for higher-ranking administrators and managers.

Being a project manager is fun and challenging. It is a work that tests your work ethics, professionalism, personality and knowledge. Having a project management certification will be your ticket to higher opportunities and bigger breaks given by your supervisors and employers in the field of project management.
