When to Get PMP Certification Training

Many people invest in their education and one of the most sought after certifications is being a project management professional or PMP.  It doesn’t come cheap but it’s still a solid investment as most PMPs earn more after getting the credential.  A salary comparison actually shows at least a 10% advantage in the basic salary of someone with a certification vs. one without this credential.  Getting certified as a PMP is not as simple as it seems and many professionals take up PMP Certification Training to ensure a high probability of passing and getting certified.

In PMP Certification Training, you get to review all the key subjects and context that will be tested when you take your PMP Exam.  If you opt to do a self review, you can also buy the practice exams which are readily available and downloadable online.  However, most people still prefer to prepare for their PMP Exam through PMP Certification Training.

This is not to say that the passing rate for both test preparations is any different since passing the exam really lies in the individual taking the test.  If you have a lot of real life experiences doing project management, chances are, you are better off doing a self review of all the concepts in project management.  You just might save yourself a couple of hundred bucks by doing this.

However, if you feel that you lack the experience and want a refresher course to make sure that you have a good chance of passing the exam, take the certification training.  You also might save yourself a couple of hundred bucks by ensuring that you pass the test the first time around.

Whether you choose to take Project Management Certification training or not, be wise with your money since you don’t only spend for it, you also spend time on it.
